Urgent appeal

Protect the Pauranik Shiva Lingams

A dilapidated Shiva temple stands with several-thousand-year-old Pauranik Shiva Lingams lying unsheltered under a tree β€” and another on the tree itself, some 32–33 feet above the ground. A half-built temple is waiting for its dome to be finished so this heritage can be housed and protected.

This is an open appeal. Gifts go to the work named on this page; a public target will be added once the Foundation sets it.

What this appeal funds first

  1. 01Finish the dome and remaining work on the temple that is already half built
  2. 02Then raise structures that shelter the Lingams still sitting under the open sky
  3. 03Protect the Lingam on the tree, about 32–33 feet above the ground

Lingams without a roof

At this site a Shiva temple has fallen into disrepair. Several Pauranik Shiva Lingams β€” thousands of years old β€” still rest in the open under a tree, with no structure to shield them. Another Lingam sits on the tree itself, some 32 to 33 feet above the ground.

A temple on the same land is already half constructed. The next work is to give finishing touches to its dome, then begin building the shelters that will protect the Lingams that remain under the open sky.

These Lingams have waited in the weather long enough. Completing the temple and covering what still lies exposed is how we return them to care.

Give these Lingams a roof

Your gift finishes the dome of the temple already rising, then builds protection for Lingams that still sit in the open. Help Birsa Vahini close this gap before another season passes over them.
